Last week we spent some time getting clear on our most important goal and why we value it so much – that we might be willing to go all in to get it. We cultivated our confidence, and broke our goal down into manageable chunks. Then we got honest on the price we’ll have to pay to get it.
Read over last week’s post for details.
Once we’ve done the work and decided to go all in, we’re ready for phase 2:
- Design your system. Daily practices become behaviors, behaviors become habits, habits achieve outcomes. What daily practices do you need to create that will put your Goal Achievement System on autopilot?
- Accept discomfort. We all have a comfort zone. It’s made up of all the daily behaviors and thoughts that make our life feel manageable. It’s what we know, and that feels comfortable. But if we want to grow, it means moving beyond what we currently know – and that’s uncomfortable. Learn to see discomfort as a go sign, where others see a stop. Be the one to step forward into growth, not back into safety. All your dreams lie just on the other side of your fear doors.
- Practice self-compassion. When you inevitably fall short (we all do), don’t blow it up with self judgement. Bad days are part of the process. Learn to play them well. Lean into your system. Create one small win to regain your momentum.
- Who can support you? What knowledge or resources would raise your chance of success?
So…here we are. It’s your turn. What small action could you take today?
Momentum is energy. Fear is fuel. Here’s to your dreams.
P.S. Many of these ideas came to me by way of much smarter people. One of my favorite creators is Brian Johnson of Optimize (www.Optimize.me) who collects, summarizes and interprets the collected wisdom of the ages. If you want to dive deeper on these ideas, message me or check out Brian’s page. Cheers.
